ANNOUNCING THE 2025 WORK OF ART COHORT

Announcing the 2025 Work of Art Cohort!

We are thrilled to welcome the participants selected for Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists, a transformative program designed to empower artists with the tools to grow thriving, sustainable creative careers.

Applicants were accepted based on their commitment to their creative practice, their desire to learn and grow as an artist, and their readiness to participate in a cohort-based program with a broad representation of disciplines, perspective, and experiences.

Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists is a professional development program for emerging and mid-career artists in the Des Moines metro area and hosted by Mainframe Studios. The program, based on the model by Springboard for the Arts, includes 12 in-person sessions led by 5 co-facilitators: Amee Ellis, Siriaco Garcia, Amy Putney Koenig, Ben Millett, and Jill Wells.

The co-facilitators will work with these artists to equip them with entrepreneurial skills, career empowerment, and the ability to make a positive impact in their communities. Topics covered include career planning, artist statements, pricing, promotions, budgeting and record-keeping, grant writing, public speaking, and more.

The program is heavily subsidized by generous support from Bravo Greater Des Moines.

Beginning on September 3rd, these talented individuals will begin their journey.
