Diverse by Design - Little Village Feature

Liz Rosa of Little Village explored April’s First Friday, Diverse by Design curated by Jill Wells.

Rosa spoke to executive director Julia Franklin, Franklin shared “Artwork needs an audience, and First Fridays allow the community to see how artists work, view and purchase finished works, and de-mystify the artistic process.”

Diverse by Design curator Jill Wells told Rosa “I wanted to address things specific to the art world, like elitists, ableist spaces, and personalities around what ‘real art’ is. I hope people gain awareness of what’s outside of ourselves, which helps push us forward and build empathy within the world that we live in.”
