Chad R. Miller is a painter, writer, and photographer whose work develops from the tension of competing or complementary concepts such as rootedness/restlessness, precision/fluidity, time/place, and presence/absence. He deals with themes of identity; travel, place and movement; memory and loss; direct sensory experience and illusion.
Miller grew up mostly in Urbandale, Iowa. He has lived in seven US states and on four continents, and has studied eight languages. He earned a BA degree in Communications Studies with a major in Film and Video production from the University of Iowa and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Ashland University.
He has published two books of creative nonfiction, Time Being and ants.
